Trade Name: REACTOBOND NAVY BLUE HE2R · CI Number: Reactive Blue 89
Reactive Blue 89 is a high exhaust reactive dye delivering a deep navy blue shade on cotton with excellent wash fastness and reduced environmental load. Its high fibre affinity means more efficient dye uptake and less chemical waste in the effluent. Supplied by Yobai Industries as REACTOBOND NAVY BLUE HE2R — batch-tested before every dispatch.
The HE (high exhaust) classification means REACTOBOND NAVY BLUE HE2R achieves fixation rates typically 15–20% higher than standard VS-type reactive blues at comparable shade depths, translating into less unfixed dye in the effluent, lower salt requirements (NaCl 40–60 g/L versus 60–80 g/L for standard VS grades), and reduced rinse water after fixation. The grade performs at its best in low liquor ratio equipment (1:8–1:12), where the concentrated bath amplifies the fibre-affinity advantage. Thorough soaping at 95°C after fixation is essential to remove residual unfixed dye and fully develop the stated wash fastness values.

REACTOBOND NAVY BLUE HE2R dissolves well at 40–50°C, with solubility around 50–80 g/L in warm water. Dissolve at 40–50°C rather than at room temperature to achieve faster, complete dissolution — especially at higher concentrations needed for deep navy shades. Pre-pasting the powder in cold water before adding warm water helps avoid undissolved lumps that would cause spots on fabric.
Filter the dissolved dye through a 100-mesh screen before adding to the bath. As with all reactive dyes, never dissolve in alkaline solution — the dye should enter the bath at neutral pH and alkali is introduced only after the substrate is in the bath and salt exhaustion is underway. The high fibre affinity of this HE grade means it will exhaust quickly under alkaline conditions, so alkali addition should be staged in portions to maintain control of fixation rate.
All values are for cotton exhaust dyeing at liquor ratio 1:8–1:12. Add NaCl in 2–3 stages before alkali addition. Lower NaCl requirement versus standard VS grades is a key benefit of this HE type.

The swatches below represent typical application outcomes on 100% combed cotton under standard HE exhaust bath conditions. Actual shade depends on fibre quality, water hardness, and process variables. Request a sample dyed swatch before committing to bulk production.

Store in a cool, dry location below 25°C. Reactive dyes are sensitive to moisture and elevated temperatures — keep containers sealed at all times. Avoid storage near acidic materials. Protect from direct sunlight.
