Solubility & Dissolution Guidelines

REACTOBOND RED HE3B dissolves well at 40–50°C, with solubility around 50–80 g/L in warm water. As a disazo compound, it has a higher molecular weight than standard monoazo reactive reds, which means it is somewhat more sensitive to dissolution temperature — room temperature dissolution is adequate at lower concentrations, but for medium and deep shades, 40–50°C water is recommended to achieve a fully clear stock solution before bath addition.

Pre-paste the powder in cold water, then bring to 40–50°C with continuous stirring. Filter through a 100-mesh screen before adding to the bath. Do not dissolve the dye in alkaline solution — dissolve in neutral water and add the stock to the bath before introducing salt and alkali in the correct sequence. This prevents premature vinyl sulphone reaction before the substrate is in the bath.

Reactive Red 120 (REACTOBOND RED HE3B) is an HE-type reactive dye for cotton exhaust dyeing with higher fibre affinity than standard VS-type reactive reds. More dye bonds to the fibre during exhaustion, resulting in higher fixation efficiency (typically 75–85%), reduced unfixed dye in the effluent, and better batch-to-batch shade consistency.

pH 10–11 (sodium carbonate), NaCl 60–80 g/L, temperature 60–80°C, standard exhaust process (jigger, winch, jet, or garment machine). Add salt in stages, then introduce Na₂CO₃ in portions. Exhaustive soaping at 95°C after fixation is critical and must not be abbreviated.
