Trade Name: REACTOBOND RED HE3B · CI Number: Reactive Red 120
Reactive Red 120 is a high exhaust (HE) reactive dye that delivers a brilliant bright red shade on cotton with superior fibre uptake compared to standard reactive dyes. Its high exhaust rate means more dye is fixed onto the fibre, reducing effluent load and chemical waste. Supplied by Yobai Industries as REACTOBOND RED HE3B.
The HE classification gives REACTOBOND RED HE3B a fixation rate typically 15–20% higher than standard VS-type reactive reds at the same shade depth, reducing unfixed dye in the effluent and improving batch-to-batch consistency. These advantages are most significant in medium-to-deep shade dyeing where the absolute quantity of unfixed dye is greatest. Exhaustive soaping at 95°C after fixation is particularly critical for this dye class — unfixed HE reactive dye hydrolysate has relatively high molecular weight and stains adjacent fabric more severely than VS-type hydrolysates, so inadequate soaping has a disproportionately large effect on wet rubbing fastness.

Thorough soaping at 95°C after fixation is especially important for this HE red — the disazo hydrolysate has higher molecular weight than VS-type hydrolysates and stains adjacent fabric more severely if not fully removed. Contact technical@yobaiindustries.in for application-specific guidance.

| Physical Form | Fine red powder |
| Bulk Density | Approx. 0.4–0.6 g/cm³ |
| Solubility in Water | Soluble; 50–80 g/L in warm water (40–50°C) |
| Dye Bath Stability | Stable at pH 7–11; hydrolyses rapidly above pH 12 |
| Wash Fastness (ISO 105-C06) | 4–5 |
| Light Fastness (ISO 105-B02) | 5 |
| Rubbing Fastness — Dry | 4–5 |
| Rubbing Fastness — Wet | 3–4 |
| Perspiration Fastness (Acid) | 4 |
| Perspiration Fastness (Alkaline) | 4 |
| Chlorine Fastness | 2–3 (avoid chlorine bleaching) |

Fastness ratings are on the standard 1–5 scale (5 = best). Wet rubbing fastness 3–4 is only achieved after proper hot soaping — inadequate removal of unfixed HE hydrolysate significantly reduces wet rub performance. Batch COA available from technical@yobaiindustries.in.
REACTOBOND RED HE3B dissolves well at 40–50°C, with solubility around 50–80 g/L in warm water. As a disazo compound, it has a higher molecular weight than standard monoazo reactive reds, which means it is somewhat more sensitive to dissolution temperature — room temperature dissolution is adequate at lower concentrations, but for medium and deep shades, 40–50°C water is recommended to achieve a fully clear stock solution before bath addition.
Pre-paste the powder in cold water, then bring to 40–50°C with continuous stirring. Filter through a 100-mesh screen before adding to the bath. Do not dissolve the dye in alkaline solution — dissolve in neutral water and add the stock to the bath before introducing salt and alkali in the correct sequence. This prevents premature vinyl sulphone reaction before the substrate is in the bath.
All values are for cotton exhaust dyeing at liquor ratio 1:10–1:15. Add NaCl in 2–3 stages before alkali addition. Soaping at 95°C after fixation is critical for this HE grade.

Store in a cool, dry location below 25°C. Reactive dyes are sensitive to moisture and elevated temperatures — keep containers sealed at all times. Avoid storage near acidic materials. Protect from direct sunlight.
