Solubility & Dissolution Guidelines

REACTOBOND GOLDEN YELLOW G dissolves well in warm water — approximately 50–80 g/L at 40–50°C. Monoazo VS-class yellows are among the easier reactive dyes to dissolve, but thorough dissolution before bath addition is still important. Undissolved particles in the bath settle unevenly and produce spots; in pale yellow shades, these spots are visible and difficult to correct after fixation.

Pre-paste the powder in cold water, then add warm water (40–50°C) with continuous stirring until fully dissolved. Filter through a 100-mesh screen before adding to the bath. Dissolve at neutral pH and add the stock to the bath before introducing salt — never dissolve in alkaline solution, as the vinyl sulphone reactive group begins to react in alkaline conditions and will reduce fixation yield if the solution ages before use.

This hue makes it the standard yellow for trichromatic systems targeting earth, mustard, olive, and khaki shades on cotton.

pH 10–11 (sodium carbonate), NaCl 40–60 g/L, temperature 60°C, standard exhaust process. Add NaCl first to promote exhaustion, then introduce Na₂CO₃ in stages to fix the dye without sudden strike. After fixation, soap at 95°C for 10–15 minutes — mandatory for this grade.
