This makes it the standard choice for khaki, olive, and earthy-green shade ranges where a standard warm brown would pull too red or too orange.

For chrome-tanned leather, run the drum at 40–55°C at pH 4–5 using formic acid. Dissolve the dye in warm water before adding. Run for 60–90 minutes for good cross-section penetration. Drop pH to 3.5 with formic acid in the final 15 minutes to fix the dye and improve rub fastness. Float ratio is typically 100–150% on weight of leather.
